Salary: £40,108 - £42,535 per annum plus excellent benefits

Location: Walsall, West Midlands

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week

In this dynamic role, you’ll carry out electrical installation, responsive repairs, testing, and maintenance across our domestic and whg owned properties ensuring safety, reliability, and exceptional customer experiences every step of the way.

 

You’ll work within a set rota, with shifts scheduled between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and some Saturday mornings as required. In addition, you’ll take part in our out-of-hours rota, helping to support customers during emergency situations outside of standard hours.

Main job responsibilities:

 

  • Carrying out electrical testing, inspection, repairs, and installations in both occupied and empty homes ensuring excellent customer service and high standards of electrical safety.
  • PAT testing
  • To undertake fault finding, and rectification of electrical installations.
  • To undertake repairs and maintenance of central heating controls and electrical heating systems in line with whg and manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • To drive and maintain a whg vehicle in accordance with whg’s vehicle policies and the Highway Code, ensuring the safety and security of loads, stock and tools at all times
  • To ensure that all relevant documentation is completed and returned within the required timescales. 
  • To ensure accurate and efficient reporting and recording of information using electronic devices and paper documentation.
  • To work effectively with internal teams, external contractors and partner agencies to ensure the best support service to our customers.
  • To ensure that Policies and Procedures which meet statutory and regulatory requirements are adhered to whilst promoting the Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, Standards and Compliance agendas.

 

We're looking for someone who has:

 

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Level 3 Electrotechnical apprenticeship incorporating end point assessment of competence
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
  • Level 3 Award in the In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing)
  • Qualified to the current edition of wiring regulations (18th edition), or has equivalent experience and is willing to work towards
  • Experience of electrical testing, inspection, installation, maintenance and repairs within domestic properties.
  • Experience of working with customers and within occupied/ domestic properties
  • Ability to work with contractors, partners and other agencies
  • An in-depth understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Good IT skills, with the ability to operate a handheld tablet effectively 
  • Able to work in line with job schedules and KPIs.
  • A full driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
