Salary: £41,327 - £44,184 per annum (plus excellent benefits)
Location: Hybrid / Walsall, West Midlands
 Contract: Fixed term (12 months), 37 hours per week (minimum two days in the office depending on business needs)

Are you a high-performing Communications specialist looking for a career move with purpose? We have a fantastic opportunity to join our vibrant in-house Communications Team. This full-time, fixed-term role is your chance to make a significant impact across a diverse organisation of more than 800 colleagues

 

Why this role?

 

This is not your standard internal comms position; it’s an influential, high-impact role where you will be at the heart of our mission to create a cohesive and engaged workforce. You’ll be developing and delivering internal communications campaigns that resonate, inspire, and align with our strategic goals and core valuesWhile the role is predominantly focused on internal communications, you may also provide support for external communications activity when required.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Drive engagement: Develop innovative communication campaigns that inform and engage our colleagues, ensuring consistent and clear messaging across all locations and job functions.

 

  • Support unity: Foster a unified organisational culture where every colleague understands and embraces our shared goal of putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.

 

  • Collaborate and innovate: Work closely with our colleague engagement team to gather insights and manage a variety of internal communication channels. Collaborate with our talented comms team and network of suppliers to create compelling content. This may include supporting on external communications projects where appropriate.

 

  • Measure success: Evaluation and measurement of our comms is embedded in our ways of working. We’ll support you to us innovative approaches to measure the impact of your campaigns, ensuring alignment with Our 2030 plan.

 

Recent internal campaigns and activity include:


  • Launching our 2030 plan at our bi-annual all-colleague conference, supported by ongoing change communications that have successfully embedded new priorities and ways of working across the business.
  • Supporting the transformation of our People & Culture division and securing coverage in People Management Magazine.
  • The successful relaunch of our intranet, whoogle, following a full redesign with new content, UX and functionality

We're looking for someone who has:

 

  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Recent and relevant experience in a communications role, with experience of internal comms and a proven track record of delivering projects that support strategic objectives.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create content that is accessible and engaging.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A good understanding of digital communication channels and accessibility requirements. 
  • A good understanding of communication strategies and tactics.
  • Membership of a professional body (CIPR, IOIC or similar) is desirable but not essential.
